Alex leads Gilion's work in the Netherlands, partnering with Dutch software entrepreneurs to fund their next stage of growth without giving up ownership too early. What Alex loves most is working alongside founders: getting close to the business, understanding what they're really building, and helping them get there on their own terms.

Before Gilion, Alex spent over four years at InnovationQuarter, the regional development agency and investor for South Holland. Here he was supporting investments into high-tech, maritime, ICT, and medtech companies and led the creation and execution of the fund's Quantum Technology sector strategy.

That time on the venture side shaped how he thinks about financing today, and why he believes Dutch software companies deserve more options than equity alone.
