Founded in 2020 in Berlin by Namrata Sandhu (CEO) and Luca Nils Schmid (CTO). Sandhu brings 20 years of sustainability experience including head-of-sustainability roles at Zalando and Arcadia Group, plus a Master's in Environment and Sustainable Development from UCL and time at the UN Forum on Forests and KPMG. Schmid is a self-taught full-stack developer fluent in over 10 languages and was previously lead developer at German mobility company Vimcar.
Vaayu has built a database of 600,000+ data points and works with retailers including Missoma, Axel Arigato, Ace & Tate, Armed Angels, Organic Basics, and Klarna, with the stated goal of helping retailers cut 1 gigaton of CO2 by 2030.
