Recare streamlines hospital discharges by linking teams with rehab, nursing & care services.
Recare streamlines hospital discharges by linking teams with rehab, nursing & care services.

Founded in 2017 in Berlin by Maximilian Greschke (CEO) and Charles Cote, Recare has grown into one of Germany's leading digital discharge management platforms. The network now spans roughly two-thirds of German hospitals, over 900 clinics connected to more than 26,000 aftercare providers, with the platform having improved aftercare speed for over 300,000 patients.

The company acquired Pflegeplatzmanager GmbH in 2023 to expand its provider network, and is positioned around Germany's Hospital Future Act (Krankenhauszukunftsgesetz/KHZG) which obliges hospitals to digitise.

Recare raised €3.2M in 2024 (including a €2M loan via Gilion) and closed a €37M round in early 2026 led by DNV, which became the largest shareholder, funding the rollout of a new AI agent for care coordination and international expansion.

“We talked to other players, but the Gilion team were genuinely interested in making the deal happen. Enabling us to get the right financing in place, simply outstanding.”
